Rehearsals on preview days
« on: Jan 09, 2020, 04:01 pm »
We are on an SPT 4 contract I am unclear if previews count as rehearsals or performances

I know that on one performance days you can schedule a 5 hour rehearsal if there is a 2 hour break before curtain but is that rule true for a preview or could I schedule a rehearsal to go from 5-10 with a preview at 7:30 as long as I give the actors a half hour?

If tickets are sold it is a performance, regardless of if it is called a "preview".

Correct. If there is audience, esp paying audience, it is a performance.

And yes, you can have rehearsals on preview days as long as you stay within your span of day, span of week, and include your 1-1/2 hrs before half hour for each performance.
