SM Down Under

I have been lurking on this site for a while now, I thought it was time to step out of the wings. :)

I am a contract SM from New Zealand, fairly new to the industry.  I have worked in ballet, opera and with a touring children's theatre company for the past 3 years. Currently back high school relief teaching to replenish the bank account before I jump back into the industry in August.

Teaching high school is a lot like Stage Managing...

What exactly is "relief teaching"? I'm not familiar with the term. Though it has been a while since I've been in a high school.

I think it is called supply teaching or substitute teaching.
I am filling in for a lady on maternity leave for 6 months.
My patience and ability to perform under pressure are tested A LOT
