I'm introducing myself to this forum. I am an elementary music teacher by day and my side gig from time to time is Stage Managing. I get lots of compliments on my stage managing abilities, but I have no formal training, so I'm always looking for advice or better ways to do things. I've stage managed, asm'd, produced, worked crew, etc mostly in community theatre settings, but recently have been asked to stage manage at a local branch campus of a pretty big University. I'm pretty proud of that fact.
Trivia/Fact: I stage managed the premiere production of The Scarlet Letter: A Musical at Theatre Harrisburg. The musical was a collaboration between college friends and developed at workshops in Boston, NYC, and DC before being fully produced for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The collaborators expanded the show into a two-act show with full orchestra and staging. It was an AWESOME experience.
I'm looking forward to connecting with other stage managers on this forum.
