Stage Manager station
« on: Jun 17, 2012, 02:35 pm »
I want to design and construct a Stage Manager's "station" for the Stage Manager to run a show.

I was thinking of constructing a portable rack-like to contain:
telex/clear-comm station, cue light system, 2-4 video monitors, cubby-like shelves to hold supplies,a pull-out desk for prompt book, with a built-in lamp with a built in connector strip for plugs. All the shelves that hold each equipment can be remounted for any size equipment. In the back would be where all the cables are, nice and neat for in-going and out-going. The station would have a plug to power the power-strips and built in lights.

Any ideas and designs?

A drawer that locks to hold valuables and a pull out desk for a laptop.

I suppose it depends on your theatre's set-up or if you tour your shows, but how necessary is it that it be portable?

Portable so I can move it around in the theatre if I need to and can be used if I working in a different theatre venue.
