TurboCad
« on: Nov 25, 2007, 08:10 pm »
Hello! I've been looking into computer programs (among other things for the theatre) the past few weeks, and was wondering if anyone has used TurboCad? If so, is it as useful as it looks? I'm on a Mac, so many programs that are useful when it comes to set design/ground plans aren't compatible, at least that I've seen. Are there any suggestions for other ground plan programs? Thanks in advance!

I've taken a liking to Google SketchUp. To my knowledge it's pretty compadible and easy to use while being comprehensive.

I've had a hard time figuring Google Sketchup out. I had it on my computer last year, but never could get it to work for me...

VectorWorks is uber-comprehensive, but the learning curve is insane. I've not heard much about TurboCad, but the little bit I have heard is from a professional CAD designer and he was bashing on it's lack of ANY tutorials or documentation. I work in an Apple Store, so I hear quite a bit about the products we offer. VectorWorks is the one I hear the most good about.
