[FAQ] What goes inside a SM Kit?
PSMKay:
Unfortunately Ricola stopped sending free samples in 2008 (see this post for discussion of the sad event) but may send coupons.
As for free stuff, I recommend following #freebies on twitter as there's a ton of bargain hunting experts who specialize in finding samples & coupons who post under that particular hashtag.

Just thought I would let you guys know that I happened to email Ricola before I saw this response, and they still send free samples! I just got a huge box of cough drops in the mail the other day, so everyone should use this awesome opportunity!
CARo:
Things that I continuously carry with me is a mini first aid kit, a skeletool, measuring tape, and a flash light, a lot of mechanical pencils and highlighters.
I add other things here and there depending of the needs of the production. but the list above are the ones I always have with me (it makes life a bit easier for me too)

I recently received as a gift for my kit a Singer Hand Sewing Machine. Having to do quick repairs by hand will be a thing of the past! I look forward to testing this addition out!
Melissitchka:
I actually wrote a post on my blog about how to stock a lot of items in your kit on a budget - I thought it might help out some of the younger stage managers just starting out: http://brokegirlrich.com/?p=876
