AEA contract question

Hi.  I am the AEA ASM on an upcoming show. My date of starting my contract is this week.  But it's odd because the theatre is dark this week and prep doesn't start until next week.  So my question is when I show up tomorrow and the theatre realizes their mistake, can they change my date of starting to next week or since we are already in this week do they have to let me work? I had asked my rep about it when I signed the contract but he said everything was fine.  So now I'm just curious.

Have you asked the PM or PSM? Maybe it was a clerical error.

Call your employer; then with the information you receive, call Equity and relate that current info to the Rep that handles that contract.
