If I get a chance, I go Civil War Reenacting. It's nice to take technology out of the playbook for a few days and go back to simpler times. And I also am a huge gamer like Matthew. I'm working on getting a PS3, and am currently enjoying WoW.

I am a Civil War Reenactor as well! Are you with a company or do you go solo?

I play Rock Band. So much fun to pretend that you're a rock star!

Agreed. Beatles Rock Band was actually a big stress reliever for our production staff after one show's strike!

I've found immense joy in volleyball.

Nearly every Sunday a group of us get together and head to the beach for a full on day of volleyball, bbq, and beer.

As for that geocaching.  I've been wanting to get into that, but I don't have a GPS.  Must you absolutely own a GPS to geocache?

If you're in an urban area, you don't need a GPSr to geocache.  A smart phone with the Geocaching app. installed works very well, as does simply looking at a Google satellite map prior to leaving home, or even printing one out and taking it with you.  I cached for three months in NYC without any tools, before I broke down and purchased a GPSr.  But if you are caching in wooded areas, the country, hiking, etc. it will behoove you to own a unit, yes.

Good to know.  There's a geo cache site about 5 minute from my house.  I think I'll go check it out.

I travel a good bit, so when I have some time off I like to drive around aimlessly in new places.
It's more fun to find good local eating establishments by chance.

I too like the occassional geocaching.  And of course reading for fun (not classes or production) is a great way to spend my time.  Currently really big into Bret Easton Ellis.

Like some of the others on this thread, I am a gamer. First person shooters are an excellent way for me to release some steam or tension. Sometimes a good book helps too. Or watching any of the television series I have digitally or on DVD from start to finish (season-to-season). I also love to tinker with Qlab on my mac.

I, um... do homework? Also, I read when I can, and am thinking of taking up Guitar Hero. My brother has it, but he rarely plays it, and it's the Classic Rock version, so it's good.

I cook, bake, and box. :)

Cooking/baking are very relaxing...plus, extra baked goods always end up at rehearsal!

Boxing is a good stress reliever, and a workout.

Primarily when I'm working, I spend time playing video games to unwind. Its great to do something totally mindless.

If I get a long bout of unemployment, I'll read, write, cook, and more recently have been trading myself to write xhtml and css codes. I figure eventually i'll be able to make theater people websites for a fee and I won't have to deal with long bouts of unemployment.

I spend my days off cooking and baking. And grocery shopping, which is oddly therapeutic. When I have the opportunity I love to go to art and history museums, especially when special exhibits are in town.

Spare time?  Hah - I have two kids!  But really, I love being with them when I'm not working.  I also love to ski and scuba dive - expensive hobbies, so I don't get to do them much.  But generally cooking and baking and getting my house looking somewhat clean are the things that make me happy in the short moments that I have with time all to myself.
