Life After Stage Management
« on: Feb 07, 2013, 08:43 am »
The "things we give up for theatre" thread seems to have attracted a number of us who have left the profession, but still feel the need to be connected to it in some way (we're all posting here, aren't we?!)

So - for those of us who have moved on:

What do you miss?
What don't you miss?
What are you doing now?
Do you find ways to stay connected to SMing/theatre?  If so - what are they?
Get action. Do things; be sane; don’t fritter away your time; create, act, take a place wherever you are and be somebody; get action. -T. Roosevelt

I miss the project based nature of the work. Seeing a project go from nothing to a spectacular production.

The drama.

Operations Manager for a corporate AV company.

I still substitute for the odd show as a ring in SM or LX tech, I attend at least 3 or 4 shows a year and I tend to put myself on some of the more theatrical corporate shows we do.
