USITT SM mentoring program
« on: Nov 29, 2013, 04:37 pm »
I am looking at going to USITT again this year (I went once in 2012). USITT offers a stage management mentorship program, where you get paired with a mentor and help work the conference events and in exchange they wave your conference fees.

Has anyone done this program before? It sounds like an interesting experience, but it sounds like they demand most of your time. The main reason I'm going this year is to talk to grad schools and internships programs and to attend sessions in stage management as well as other areas like lighting. I want to make sure I get the most out of the conference and don't want to spend all my time working it.

I need to make up my mind soon, the deadline for applications is Tuesday (Dec 3) and I may already be to late to apply (I don't know when they started excepting applications).

So does anyone have any insight into this program and if it's worth doing?

Already discussed at http://smnetwork.org/forum/students-and-novice-stage-managers/usitt-stage-management-mentor-project-(2010)

Please contribute your questions to that thread instead of starting new ones.

The search term I used to find that thread was USITT.
