Internships
« on: Jan 26, 2009, 11:05 pm »
Hey,

I am looking for some ASM or SM internships in Austin, Texas. I was only thinking about going for this (2009) summer, but was wondering if anyone had any information that could help. Thanks!
Best Wishes :)

I've been looking for internships as well, but I've been applying to all over.  But if you get a subscription or if your school has one, artsearch is a great website.  It's www.tcg.org/artsearch.  If not I would just try googling different combination of words like texas summer internships.  There are so many out there.  However if you are only looking for a specific area, it might be harder.  There are a lot of internships that do provide housing as well as a stipend.  Just a suggestion.

Since you have such a specific location try looking for theatres in Austin. You can probably just google theatre Austin, TX and come up with a good list. Most theatres that have internships will usually have a section on their website with info.

I think she's looking for specifics here, folks.  As in, "I heard that company X hires 4 interns, the internships start in August and you should talk to This Person, he's a real tough interviewer but he likes chocolate and hates glitter drops."

At least, if I posted something like OP to a public networking board, that's what I would want to see posted in response.

Shari88 -

I have a friend who got his start in the Austin theater scene, and had very positive things to say about the experience. I will write to ask what he recommends, and pass the info along!
