A reminder to student stage managers
« on: Nov 14, 2007, 02:39 am »
Students and new stage managers are certainly welcome here at SMNetwork.  However, it is crucial to bear in mind that this site is chiefly aimed at working professionals.  We understand that our younger and novice members may feel somewhat out of place when chatting with the pros, and that educational theatre has very little bearing on pro theatre, so we've created a special board ("Students & Novices") JUST for the newcomers to the industry.  Students are welcome to post to any board on the site, but bear in mind that outside of this specific board their posts will be held to a much higher standard.  Within the Students board, the rules are a bit more relaxed, although members posting to the Students board are still required to adhere to the Community Standards.

If your post has anything to do with a student production, student situation, or classroom project, or you wish for us to hold your actions to standards that are less than professional, your post belongs on the Students and Novices board.

At certain times of the year, SMNetwork tends to get flooded with student stage managers seeking professionals from the industry to interview or poll for classwork.  Please remember that all school or grade-influencing projects must be cleared with the me (PSMKay) before posting them.  Projects and interview requests are only permitted on the Students & Novices board.  For more information on how to get your project approved, please check this post on the student board.
