Introductions / Can't wait to have more to share!
« Last post by Juniper on Jun 28, 2023, 02:07 pm »
I'm young and don't have quite enough experience to have unique tricks or tips to share, but I do have fun and silly stories, that I'm always happy to tell.

My fellow ASM this year knew Morse code fluently and would write messages all over the white boards in the black box and leave them for people to find. Often he'd write lyrics or monologues from our show but it was always fun to pull up my handy Morse code chart and decode his messages.

We also had an actor crochet little worms for the whole stage management team, after a running joke about tapeworms. Mine's named Gertrude!

I'm so excited to learn from this site and expand my growing knowledge of all things stage management! Thank you for creating this fantastic opportunity for community.

Introductions / hi everyone!
« Last post by jesselikescats on Jun 12, 2023, 06:36 pm »
hi everyone! i'm a stage manager in the midwest and i've been looking for resources like this, wonderful that I found it. i work on both school shows, and work closely with a couple community and professional theaters in the area.

my tip: never text and cross the stage at the same time. especially when the whole cast and crew is on stage watching you. learned the hard way, after accidentally stepping off and sandwiching myself between two seats in the audience. safe to say, my emails wait until i'm sitting down, now...

can't wait to learn from all of yall!

Hello! My name's Rowan, I'm a 4th year university student studying to be an SM. Graduation is looming so I've been scouring the internet for job/internship opportunities and I stumbled upon this website!! Super awesome and useful tool. Definitely going to take advantage of the forms and internship reviews!!
P.S. A fun fact - Jimmy Wilson, who was a co-producer on 'A Strange Loop', is an alum from my University and recently visited after winning a Tony for the aforementioned show. I got to meet them and they are the kindest soul ever.  :)
