My journey in theater has also led me to dabble in creating music for plays, which has been an incredibly rewarding experience.
Recently, I've been working on a new application called Captitles (captitles.com) designed specifically for surtitling theater performances. One of the unique features of Captitles is its ability to automatically import theater scripts and, thanks to the power of artificial intelligence, provide automatic translations for replicas. I believe it offers a more seamless user experience compared to traditional tools like PowerPoint.
I've joined this forum to connect with like-minded individuals and, if anyone's interested, to find potential testers for Captitles. I genuinely value the insights and feedback from professionals in the field. Rest assured, my primary intention here is to engage, learn, and contribute to our shared passion for theater, rather than to promote my work in any intrusive manner.

Tools of the Trade / How to Paint Wood and cardboard Like Stone

I have never been a big painter and would love some resources and advice on how to paint it to look like stone. Thank ya'll so much!

I was a professional Opera SM for the first chunk of my career. I then moved into running the tech side of a children's theatre company which lead to a career in teaching. I am now working overseas in Jakarta and have a new batch of students who want to grow up to be Stage Managers. Excited to join the community and looking forward to sharing the combined knowledge and expertise with my students.

I'm so happy I found a group with fellow SMs. My name is Jaclyn (She/her)! I've been stage managing for about 5 years. I started in college at Cal State Fullerton and just fell in love with it. After the pandemic, I became a production stage manager for a tiny theater in Los Alamitos. The theater unfortunately closed and I am now a professional freelance stage manager. I'm looking forward to hearing all of your wonderful stories and tips about our lovely theater world <3
