Students and Novice Stage Managers / Re: New Stage Manager

I agree with GHSStageManager. Kill them with kindness is a great way to go.
Make it a learning lesson for them. Explain that when they haven't placed and checked their props, they lose them like in the case that happened. Don't hound them each night/rehearsal. If you don't have a props master, you or your ASM just browse your prop table to make sure they are there. if it's not, send a brief reminder to the entire cast to make sure props are placed and checked. It won't seem as if you are targeting that particular actor then.
If one single actor doesn't place their props constantly, then you need to deal with that separate individual
Hope this helps and welcome! Feel free to PM if you'd like more advice (if i have it to offer!)

I'm looking into attending USITT. My TD/Professor has been pressing me to go, last year was just too busy for me, so I may give it a try this year.

For Musicals I found a great site that lots of scripts. they need formatting (i personally don't like how they are composed) but they appear complete. I've not sat down and compared them yet. I'll update as soon as i do

Hope this helps others like it's hopefully going to me.

Most of the shows that I checked on this site were only the song lyrics, not the entire libretto (meaning there are no scene/dialogue, just what is sung).  Also, it isn't clear whether they are reprinted with permission from the publisher or if it is just a site where someone gathered the info and posted it.

Yea, i noticed that. I was looking for urinetown, which actually has the dialogue in it, but i couldn't find any onfo about the publisher :( figured it may help a little at least

Hi
Anyone have a Electronic version of Urinetown: the Musical? I'm SM'ing it in Feb/March.
Thanks! :)

Uploaded Forms / Re: Line Notes (for going "off book")

Wow i've never actually had to hand the actors each their notes. What we do, and it sounds rather primitive after reading all this, is send out the Actor's Notes with the Rehearsal Report each night.

It's really a simple word table that has

Initials Name  Scene/Page #  Note

This would be posted on the call board as well. The actors would have to sign their initials for each note next rehearsal. that way we can make sure all of them have read their notes and they see their line notes as well. It's fresh in their mind before they start the rehearsal.

Just another question...

Am currently trying the comment/ reviewing way on MS Word way which is working really well BUT the does anyone know how to change the colour of the comment box so I can use different colors for Standbys and Gos?!

I would really like to know the answer to this!!! Please and thank you :-P

One thing i found you could do is to change the "User name" under the Track Changes button. This will make MSWord think it is a different author, therefore changing the colours of the comment boxes.
Seemed to work well for me
