Important note: If your shift could be in any way dangerous for cast or crew, build in a verbal or visual confirmation by a second person (usually an ASM, but it could be any second person who can confirm safety) before the scene continues. Do not allow an unsafe scene to continue without 2 confirmations. Double checks are always A Damn Good Idea. That's another thread entirely.
This is extremely important.
An automated scenic shift has the potential to kill people if done incorrectly.
It may seem incredibly and unnecessary especially weeks into a long run, but people are unpredictable by nature.
You really can't be "too safe".

I received my IATSE card in May of 2013 after our company negotiated an agreement with IATSE Local 21.
It's been a life changing experience.

I occasionally stage manage one of the smaller clubs we run along with being a venue tech and ATD.
We work with all sorts of acts, from 3 guys in a van to 2 or 3 buses and 4 trucks.

We hosted two opera performances in July.
2 instrument mics in the pit, that's it.

I found it absolutely amazing.
The acoustics of the room put $150k worth of PA to shame.

I insisted we cut down the next musical to 5 mics instead of the usual 14 and use 1/3 the usual PA.
It worked tremendously.

No wireless microphones are allowed, all company members will know to project adequately.

Yeah, but the issue can be with getting the money into your account if there isn't a local branch nearby.
I was having issues with that very thing being on the road so much.
Recently I switched to State Farm bank, they have a neat service set up where you take a picture of your endorsed check with an iPhone or Android device and it is deposited electronically.

Since my Canon Bubblejet started printing a green line on everything I have been carrying a Canon Pixma MP560.
Ink is real cheap and it stands up to being driven around frequently.
