The Green Room / Search error on website
« on: Jan 27, 2020, 03:59 pm »
Is anyone else having issues with the search feature on this site?
I've tried using the top right search box, which takes me to a blank page. I've also tried searching via the "search" tab on the upper left, which yields the same results.

I've had this issue for a while now (using both Safari and Chrome). Help?

Thanks in advance.

Tools of the Trade / hanging tool in Playbill.com pic?
« on: Aug 31, 2011, 01:44 pm »
Hey peeps,
One of my favorite parts of playbill.com's "a two-show day with..." photo series is the backstage and callboard pics, because we all like to see how other SMs work. In the recent photo series for Sister Act cast member Caesar Samayoa, there's a pic (found below) with one of the SMs in front of the callboards-- Does anyone know what the nifty grey hanging devices are and where you can get them?

thanks!

The Hardline / Meal break and scheduling
« on: Jan 04, 2009, 12:00 am »
Is there a policy or understanding regarding whether or not meal breaks are pre-scheduled and listed on a rough monthly rehearsal calendar?

Thanks for the help :)

I'm just finishing up my last year of undgrad work and recently ran into a problem and I'm not quite sure how it should have been resolved.

I was stage managing a musical and the lighting designer stayed up to the start the second dress rehearsal and left, because he had to drive a couple states over to begin his summer work at a regional shakespeare festival. Now my problem occurred when the director-after the designer had left-decided he didn't like some of the light cues and personally went and changed them himself. I wasn't sure what to do. I wanted to tell the director he couldn't because he had already given the ok to the designer after our tech rehearsal, but I didn't want to step on any toes and cause problems between the director (who is also one of my professors) and myself. Ultimately, I had no choice but to allow the changes.

Should I have stood my ground? How are things suppose to be done? Does the director have any boundaries?

Thanks for any help.
