The Hardline / "Equity Business"

What is the "Equity Business" that happens in the 30 minutes prior to the first rehearsal?
What does, if anything, the SM provide Equity with weekly.
What does, if anything, the Deputy provide Equity with weekly.
What other "Equity Business" does stage management take care of during the pre-production/rehearsal/tech/performance stage.

Primarily I'm asking what the differences are (other than governing regulations/rules) between the production process for an Equity production vs. non-Equity/education production.

Prior to the first production, the Equity SM...
At the first rehearsal, the Equity SM...
Following the rehearsal week, the Equity SM...
If fog/haze is used in the productions, the Equity SM...

I've looked at tons of forms on the Equity site, but how/when are they submitted, etc.

If I were handed an Equity contract tomorrow, I would need to work on...

The Green Room / Food in the Green Room and Smoking in costume?

How do you and your actors/crew use your Green Room? What is your smoking in costume policy? I ask because our new Costume Shop Supervisor has taken it upon himself to incorporate a few new rules pertaining to food/smoke and costumes. In the meeting before our final rehearsal before techs, he told the cast/crew that all food has to be removed from the Green Room at half-hour and they are not to smoke in costume AT ALL. They couldn't even put on a robe or coat. They are to change into the clothes they wore to the theatre then change back into the costume before making an entrance. I understand the need to preserve costumes for the run, but is this a bit much?

The Hardline / EMC for lighting intern

I'm interning at a theatre that participates in the EMC program, but my internship is for electrics. Can I receive EMC points? I want to SM professionally, but I have an equal interest in lights/sound and I love the internship position.

Any thoughts?

Stage Management: Plays & Musicals / TECH: Reports during technicals

I start technicals for Jitters Wednesday and I was wondering if you guys do some type of report during technicals? I have my rehearsal/performance reports. It seems like everyone will be there to see what needs to be fixed so doing a "technical report" would be redundant. Any thoughts?

The Hardline / Equity "half-hour"

Does equity require that actors have access to the stage during "half hour" or is this just a 30-minute period in which the actor (in the building) should not be bothered? Can half hour occur when house opens 30 minutes before GO? If the actors are called at 7pm for an 8pm GO, does/can half-hour start at 7? Is half hour a time aside from getting into makeup etc.?

Examples of pre-show calls/schedules would be helpful.
Here's mine.... (I am aware that times don't add up equally, but my biggest pet peeve is when the audience has to wait on the actors or crew  )
6:30pm CALL - 7:30pm GO
6:30 ACTORS CALLED
6:40 20 TILL HOUSE OPENS
6:50 10 TILL HOUSE OPENS ACTOR'S CHECK PROPS
6:55 LIGHT/SOUND OPERATORS IN PRESHOW
7:00 HOUSE OPEN HALF-HOUR 30 TILL PLACES
7:12 15 TILL PLACES
7:17 10 TILL PLACES
7:22 5 TILL PLACES
7:24 3 TILL PLACES
7:57 PLACES; BREAK LEGS!

Does Equity have specific call times? The 3 minutes till places seems weird, and I honestly have no idea wear I obtained the call from, but I just can't seem to let it go!
