Hello everyone ,
I am currently working on a senior project for high school which involves a research paper element. My topic is union representation in theatre, and more specifically Equity representation of actors and stage managers. I am wondering if anyone here who is an equity member would be willing to answer a few questions via email for inclusion in my paper. I'd also be interested in hearing from some non-equity stage managers as well, so if you are not equity and willing to answer a few questions that'd be great!  If you're willing to help me out, just respond here and I can email you the questions. Thank you so much!

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to show me a sample production analysis. I am currently working on mine, and i just want to make sure that I am doing it correctly. Do you normally do page by page or scene by scene? In the cast/costume column, should I indicate entrances/exits of the various characters? If they are on throughout several pages, should I just indicate it on the first page that they enter, and leave the column blank for the next pages (until they enter again later in the play?) As was suggested last time, I think that I will only indicate props as they are mentioned for the first time in a given scene, but I'll list it again in a later scene if it comes up. I just want to make sure that I make this document the most helpful that it can be.

Thanks!

I have a dilemma here.. I am currently working on a show that has very specific blocking, and I am trying to decide if I should create a blocking script and a calling script? Is it better to have 1 or 2 scripts?Any experiences? How much blocking should make its way into the calling script? I am trying to keep things clean, but I also want to have information I need available to me.

Thanks.

Hello All!
I am a junior in high school currently working on a research paper/project and I was wondering if anyone would be interested in being interviewed (via email) I need to have at least one interviewed source, and I'd love to be able to interview someone who has been in the industry for a while. It doesn't really matter if the person I interview is equity or not, as long as you have quite a bit of experience. If anyone would be interested in this, please let me know. It shouldn't take very long and I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks,
Mitch

Stage Management: Other / Stage Management-TV?

Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone here has had experience as an SM on a TV show. I see stage manager(s) listed in the credits on a range of shows from sit-coms to talk shows, and I have been wondering what all a stage manager is responsible for in the TV world. Any insight?

I am currently putting together a production analysis (page by page..the scenes are too long to do it by scene) and certain props are referenced multiple times within a few pages in the script. Should I list them multiple times in my props column of my analysis? What I have been doing so far is putting everything that is referenced per page into the appropriate column. That way when I go to do my prop plot and other paperwork later I have the most information to be working with. Any opinions?
