Tools of the Trade / Re: latest toys...

Post it flags and tabs are my favorite things at the moment. And colored pens. Papermate Inkjoy has a package of 10 which makes color coding things easy. Oh and washi tape. I've found super thin washi tape that's awesome for marking things up in a script.

I don't know if it's a toy, but we started using Remind to text everyone at once. It's a site/app designed for teachers to contact parents, but it works well for sending short messages it everyone easily.

Uploaded Forms / Re: Props/Properties
« on: Sep 14, 2015, 03:50 am »
This is an example from early on in rehearsals.
Scene row: Shows nickname I've given the scene, and personal property used in the scene and the props which should be set during scene change
The columns from left to right:
  • Prop- The property in question.
  • Act- The act and scene.
  • In- However that prop got onstage including the actor who takes it on, where on the stage it comes in at and where in the script it comes in.
  • Where- This shows any major movement onstage such as a pass off.
  • Out- Much like in except in but not.
  • Source- Who is providing the prop or where was it obtained?
  • Notes- Anything and everything else goes here. When working with multiple people a note of what is being used temporarily is also helpful.

Tools of the Trade / Re: Google Docs.

We are on our...fourth?...show using primarily Google Docs. It's been a life saver. The formatting issues drive me bananas however it has taken a lot of work to get us this far. I'd love to move over to Office 365 but I seriously doubt that would actually happen.

How do you document line notes and blocking? Do you upload the script or use a form?

Introductions / Good Morning!

Hey there!

I specialize in props and mentoring ASMs in a small, college setting although I've SMed as well. I've done a bit of everything although teaching people how to be a techie is my favorite. I live in the MidWest, am a compulsive knitter and have a compelling urge to organize.
