I'm looking for the Libretto of Drowsy Chaperone in Word. I have one copy but the formatting is so screwed up I can't use it without completely re-typing it.

I'm looking for a copy of Gilbert & Sullivan's 'Pirates of Penzance' for my show coming up in the next few weeks, I have a paper copy but I'd very much like an electronic one for my calling script! Thanks in advance! :)

I absolutely agree that with all the concerns, my typing is a million times faster than writing and but I have my concerns as well. I'm eager for the app to be released and see how it does work out but I will probably have paper blocking then translate it to the app for a cleaner version in my free time.

I don't have any arguments to any points brought up, they're all very true but I do want to see if something useful comes off it, even if it's only having a clean backup of my blocking for reference.

I think once it's set up it will be a lot faster than writing, granted that everything is going in order. For a second scene in a row you just hit one button to make an exact copy of the previous scene then move the characters and set pieces accordingly. At least, for me personally, that would be faster than redrawing circles and set pieces. And I can type a lot faster than I can write without the need to look down. But like I said, that's just me personally.

Hmm... Very interesting. I have an iPad and iPhone with the program so when it's out I'll definitely report back!

Best weekend ever. I got an iPad for Christmas AND I learned about this app coming out in March! Stage Write. A blocking program made for iPads! I made a thread just for it too.

Also, has anyone tried out Bento? How does it work for organizing everything?

Im shocked nobody has mentioned this yet!!

An iPad app made specifically for blocking for use of SMs, directors and choreographers. No news on a price but it's released on March 1 st. I, for one, am crazy excited about this!!!

(I'm not related with the company at all so no attempts to sell here. Just excited!)

EDIT: Link mangled and removed, topic changed. Promoters spammed SMNetwork further down the thread, pretending to be legitimate users. We have no interest in working with or purchasing products from companies that use dishonest marketing tactics. - PSMK

I would LOVE to! I sent you a private message with my email if you're still in need!

I shadowed shows that were National Tours or sitting in Chicago. My parents were close to a PSM who got me a copy of the Vegas Phantom and the touring Dreamgirls scripts to refer to when attempting to recreate it.

My next show isn't until the Fall. It'd probably be better to start my trial closer to that time. I'll definitely be in contact when that time comes!

I'm absolutely in LOVE with my SM bag. I'm obsessed with pockets and sections and this has more than even I can use:

Spiderwire Wolf Spider Tackle Bag:     http://www.gearbuyer.com/products/outdoor_recreation_group_spiderwire_wolf_spider_tackle_bag.html
It's technically a tackle kit for fishing but the boxes are perfect for organizing first aid kits, office supplies, etc. The things on the side for fishing line are great for spike and gaff tape. The padded shoulder straps are really nice for carrying it and there's an elastic spot for me to slide my prompt book into.

I'll definitely give the free-trial a go when I have my next show, but just out of curiosity what is the cost for someone like me, for example. I'm a college student stage manager. I'll be doing two shows next year one from September to October and one from January to February?

I personally think that bringing the director in on this, it's possible that they haven't heard the snide comments by the other actors and to me this seems like the director's place to step in and talk to both the actress and the rest of the cast.

I've shadowed a few shows in Madison, Wisconsin including Wicked, Lion King, Phantom of the Opera, Legally Blonde, Les Miserables, Dreamgirls and Beauty and the Beast (Non-Equity Networks Tour). I also had the incredible opportunity to act as a PA/SM Intern for Shrek the Musical through tech and previews in Chicago while they were opening the Broadway tour. I was fortunate enough to have theatre parents who know people and also work on the IATSE Local in Madison so they help me get in contact with the stage managers. I love shadowing, it's so cool to see how the "big guns" work and I also use the things I learn from the shows to use at my college. From Shrek, I was next to the PSM as he typed up the prompt book so I learned how he formatted it and I used that and the Vegas Phantom calling scripts to figure out how to do that for my College.

I don't really know if there were any cool stories but I'm always entertained at how often I'm told, "yeah... pretty boring... this is all we do" as they sit in their offices until places.
