I got a reply from an Equity rep in the UK. This is what she said:

Thank you for your email;. You will need to be on a freed from work
restrictions visa to be eligible to work in the UK and are only able to
join British Equity as a full member through membership of an affiliated
union or professional experience. Please see our website for full

Hi

I will be finishing my Stage Management BFA degree next year and upon graduation I expect to have about 4 or 5 Equity apprenticeship credits from Canada.

My Fiance is from Europe and wants to immigrate to the UK once I am completed my schooling here and we are married. I want to be able to continue my career there as a Stage Manager, so my question is this:

Is it possible to transfer Canadian Equity Apprenticeship credits to UK credits, or will I need to start from square one?

Also, if I become a full Equity member here before we Immigrate, can I transfer my membership, or will I need to apprentice again?

Has anyone done this type of thing before?

Stage Management: Other / Inserted Dialogue in Opera

I am Stage Managing my fist opera this summer and even though I took a short class on the subject in my Stage Management program at the University of Alberta I have ran into a problem already. I am working on "Die Fledermaus" which has dialogue between the songs. My Director wants to rewrite this dialogue, because we are using English and he does not like the translation given in the Dover score. However, I am beginning to work with my script now, since I know it is going to take me more then my prep week to do it, and I don't know what to do about the timings, since the dialogue is going to change. Also, there is no dialogue in the music I have to do the timings with

Any advice? Should I leave the dialogue out the timings since the time could change with the translation? But wouldn't that mess me up later on in the process? Your help is greatly appreciated.

I just picked up some erasable highlighters from the Office Depot near my house. They are made by Pilot and called light Frixion. There is a rubber rub on the back that you use over the dry ink and it rubs off quite easily. I'm not sure if you can highlight over an area you erased though, give me a sec to check... you can.

Does make a noise when you shake it, which you have to do before using which is a bit of a problem. Only comes in Pink and yellow, about 4$ Canadian for a pack of one pink and one yellow
