Hello!
As with everything, it depends!
- If you're working as an SM on the book, or DSM, then yes - specific blocking notation
- If you're working as an ASM, or Deck SM, then no - just Ent and Ex is usually fine. However, if you have any Supernumeraries, I'd suggest having their blocking written down, as they can be replaced/covered at short notice.
- Some SMs ask their ASMs to have blocking down as well, to help with other blocking questions, or to help them ensure busy scenes have been covered by Stage Management in general.

I have two answers to this:
- At some point (presumably) you'll ask for your first call, or be given it. I'd use this to reply/ask 'is there anything you'd like me to bring'? Then you've asked a question, without assuming they are unprepared/stupid/etc.
- My kit is pretty handy (http://www.muji.eu/pages/online.asp?Sec=17&Sub=80&PID=7452 in Medium), so I just take it with me. Then I know I have everything I need!

This won't answer your question in the slightest...
In the UK, temperature in the workplace must be 16 deg Celsius (or 13 for 'rigorous physical effort) or higher by law. There is no upper temperature, but the employer/company "has a duty to determine what reasonable comfort will be in the particular circumstances."

I use 'LX' for Electrics and 'Sound' for Sound cues....never had to say 'Mics' before!

N.B. In the UK, Rail=Flys
It depends what the flys staff need. Sometimes it's just a case of Standby Fly Q6....Fly Q6 Go. Sometimes it's much more descriptive, e.g. Standby Fly Q6 which is Full Black and Castle Gauze Out over 30 seconds.....Fly Q6 Go. That's normally for a one-off event show though, if there's any more than 'three' performances I'd expect Flys to work it out themselves, same as with any other department.

Point #4 - homosexuality. Preface: I am not gay, but I am a huge gay activist. I work in the arts, for Christ's sake. If you are not accepting of most everyone, you are in the wrong business, right? With that said, I know and work with many gay people here in Dubai. While it is technically "haram" to be gay, it really doesn't ...stop people. It's just something you don't flaunt to the world. Let's put it this way -- a heterosexual couple has to withhold from public displays of affection. Kissing, dancing too close, cuddling, etc... is not really accepted in public, regardless of sexual preference. Things like that are strictly for closed doors. Honestly, you don't want to get pregnant while not married or you could get into some serious trouble.
Thanks for your very in-depth reply to everyone's questions. However, I would like to point out that while I said I was part of the LGBT community, I didn't say I was gay....focus on the T part!

YES! My bobble goes everywhere with me! Water quality isn't an issue in this country, but it really does help me to drink more water throughout the day!
