Students and Novice Stage Managers / A matter of procedure

I am a student Stage Manager going into my forth and final semester in college. In this semester we put on three shows in this comming semister which is acted, teched designed and stage managed by students. I was at first assigned by the program coordinator to CO-SM the second show in the season. I found out about a week ago the the SM of the first Show has bowed out of the position for personal reasons and that I am now the SM of the first show. As far as I know the Coordinator hasn't told anyone else about the switch and I am not even sure if the Director of the show knows yet. I Emailed him concerning thins and have yet to received a reply. Should I send an email to the actors ( as I have most of their contact information from school but not the director) letting them know of the switch or wait till the first day of rehearsal?
