SM'd and ran sound/video during a "lecture" from the first female porn actress to receive her PhD.

The first 20 minutes was video footage of her movies dating back to the 70's. During the "lecture" were additional video clips and photos throughout her career, concluding with how to produce and shoot your own "movie". The last 10 minutes consisted of a live version of the "Bosom Ballet".

I'm open-minded, but wasn't briefed about what was going to happen; just given a list of video queues and when they were supposed to occur... This was in a converted church on campus, and there was no booth. We setup the projector and mixer in the 5th row of the audience, and that's where I sat the entire night swapping video tapes. I still get a little twitchy when thinking about it.

I'll jump in on this...

The last announcement I used ended like this, "...remember that our actors are easily distracted by shiny objects, blinking lights and ringing noises. Please take a moment to silence all mobile devices, or during the show you will end up with a drooly, giggling cast member on your lap begging you to "make-it-do-it-again...".

It seemed to get a laugh and some applause...

Seems a bit demeaning to me, I don't think I'd appreciate it if I was in that cast.

I suppose you could look at it like that... That's the nice thing about good natured casts (they do exist); they thought it was pretty funny... I figure I can choose to either go with a droll announcement, which just isn't our company, or I can go with something that has a semblance of humor. If I decide to make fun of someone, I can chose my cast, or I can chose my audience; who happens to pay my bills...
