Has anyone worked on a production of The Cripple of Inishmaan before?  What did you use to quickly clean up the several raw eggs that get broken over Bartley's head? He doesn't have more than a few minutes offstage before his next scene.

Is there anyway to control the inevitable mess?

Looking for any words of advice or suggestions. Rehearsals begin in a few weeks.

Thanks.

Why am I not surprised?

Actually that's not a bad idea. It's hard not to be lazy when you know no one's watching... I've had the same problem lately. But if there's a "producer" to answer to, then you better be worth their money!

BTW, what's the show called?

Stage Management: Plays & Musicals / Birthday cakes

Hmm... interesting. I can't say I've ever come across a situation where it's SM responsibility to provide b-day cakes. (It is indeed very nice of you to do it, and a nice touch.)  In my experience, either the company has paid for a cake, or cast members have bought cakes for each other.

If you want to continue organizing it (and feel the actors want it to continue), and mgmt won't pay for it, perhaps you could start a "birthday fund"... getting a little bit of money from everyone in the cast.

Clear nail polish: good for fixing runs in stockings/tights. (Comes in handy when you have a lot of dancers in your cast!)

liquid bandage: I find a lot of people ask for that

small bell: good for rehearsal sound fx
