If you can get your scenic designer to share his Vectorworks drawings with you, I've always saved my own copy and just made adjustments that I need.

Vectorworks is free for students, but it has a steep learning curve. It's worth it, though to at least learn how to snap measurements on it (or whatever your designer is using). It's much easier to tape out a floor that way instead of using a scale rule and a printed plan.

But that's just me...

It wouldn't be effective for a tape out floor plan, but for running spikes and glow tape I've always used a quick rub of an elmers glue stick. I've never had a problem with it on wooden floors or Marley. It takes a little more effort to pull up, but I haven't ever damaged a floor (throws salt over shoulder).

I've always done blocking scripts with the text on the right, because I'm left handed and it makes it easier.

My calling scripts are done the same way, but I always keep the two in separate binders; in my undergrad we don't have understudies, so I've been know to handoff my blocking script to an ensemble member who has to go on for a principal character. But I digress...

The University I attend uses Google Sites as a internal intranet.

Each show has it's own section, which contains all the company materials, and is updated like a virtual callboard. It also contains SM resources, like emergency medial forms, templates, and such documents, as well as master calendars of all the rehearsal spaces, reservation forums, notices, etc.

It's become a really useful tool, and I'd like to use it in my future professional exploits. Of course, everything is still emailed; but this is a newer form of the 'rehearsal hotline'. We also still have a hard copy callboard.

Here's the template for all of my production calendars. I use this as a general calendar, and then do weekly schedules and daily calls.

I'd have to say I'd have an ASM call the ME, if they wern't on site, and let the television people know what was going on. Other than that...I'm not sure. Send someone to the dimmer racks/transformers to see if we blew something?

Hello all!

My name is Branden Scott Stewart, and I'm currently a student at Otterbein University, working on a B.F.A. in Theatre Design and Technology with a focus in Stage Management.

I've looked through the forums before, but thought it would be a good time to join. So here I am! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!
