Meh. Vista isnt so bad. I have yet to find a program that doesnt work on it.

I never got into Macs but thats because I was obsessed with Linux. (Its a long story). I dont think Macs are that amazing.

I don't allow anyone to speak on the headset when it's showtime other than myself as SM... I've seen too many cues missed because of conversations over stuff that doesn't pertain to the show...

I used to be like that but I guess it depends on the crew. My crew was completely competent enough not to miss cues because once I called a standby, everyone was ready.

Here2Serve - Below SMJorge mentions that NCSA does not have a grad SM program.  This is something you may find extremely valuable, and I feel it's often overlooked by folks looking for an undergrad SM program.

NCSA does not have a graduate program in Stage Management, but they do have an undergraduate program.

Quite simply, if there is no graduate program, the undergraduates stage manage the shows - it's a potential for tons of good experience, especially with the scale of productions NCSA puts up.  Classroom theory means very little without experience to back it up.

I'm not endorsing NCSA in particular, but personally I think you're wise to look at schools without grad programs.

I agree. Look at a school like **inserts shameless plug** SUNY Purchase. You'll get alot more opportunities. Feel free to PM or E-mail :)

The last big show I did at school I tried to keep it clean. I actually messed up very badly one and was talking to the confidante about a problem with the sound designer and I had accidentally left the mic on while it was sitting on my calling desk. But most of the time if I'm not in a standby I let people talk if they like. Everyone seem to know that the conversation stopped once I started a stand by.
