There's a similar roadie joke with tour manager instead of stage manager.

Dry Ice is a great option but I'm not sure how easy it is to obtain except if you get it from a restaurant or deli that ships or orders meat.
Most welding supply houses have dry ice.

An A/V tradeshow in a few weeks you say.......InfoComm maybe?

That'd be the one!
I know tons of people that are going and some that are exhibiting.
I'll make a list of booths that you should check out later tonight.

Employment / Re: Taking Time Off (different situation)
« on: Jun 11, 2009, 07:47 pm »
I recently read about a rather large casino that was built in Gulfport, MS.
It had several venues inside it.

Might be something to look into.

If you are very desperate I know a production company in Gulfport.

For a few years now AOL has made you spell check before you send a message.
Those 5 seconds have saved me a few times.

Holy cow!
As Kevin already said, safety is going to be the most important consideration at this point.
Hang in there, and do your best to keep it together.

the cost to stay overnight is at least $130 in a hotel.
That is far from a low price.

1. Festo/Festool
That solves one mystery.
That's the drill/driver that Richard Trethewey uses on "Ask This Old House".
My father and I have been guessing and researching for a few years now.

I wish there was some legal way to block signals just inside the audience and backstage areas of a theatre.
If you have several million extra dollars laying about one could have a Faraday cage built.
But that's approaching the nonsense dollars budget expectation.

Tools of the Trade / Re: Herbal cigars?
« on: Jan 10, 2009, 09:50 pm »
As for hand-rolling cigars, cigars are rolled with a large tobacco leaf.  Not sure if you'd be able to find any rolling paper, but it'd likely wind up looking like a giant joint reminiscent of a Cheech & Chong movie.
I was toying with the idea of dying rolling paper in tea or something, similar to the way some of us make parchment.

I suppose you could buy several of those, cut them up and roll your own cigars.
As to where you can find large rolling papers, I have no clue.
