I love the sushi idea, I might just try that!

Maybe bring a deck of cards or crossword puzzles? I've never actually been in that situation, but I imagine that could possibly take their minds off the talking.

Hope that works!

Students and Novice Stage Managers / Re: ASM choice conflict

I had the same problem like, 2 weeks ago. I went and spoke with both my director and our TD and explained why I couldn't have a certain girl as my ASM. Many of my reason were the same as yours. And luckily for me, they did let me end up choosing my own ASM and he is fabulous. Best of luck!

We had our first read thru for 4.48 Psychosis last night. When the director asked if I had anything to add all I could say was "Don't make me call looking for you. I have enough to do without having to worry about why you are missing. If I don't get a call at least 2 hours before call, you had better be there. It's all I ask."         Especially since it's an ensemble performance. If one actor is missing, the rehearsal is a waste.

I found almost everything my kit was missing and when I priced it all, it came out to under $30. That is so awesome! Thanks so much! ;D

In college, I am able to keep my prompt books, and actually I am participating in SETC this year and my "audition" is my prompt books from previous shows. I am quite exited!

Hi! I'm Lydia Caballero. I'm a sophmore at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, LA. I have been stage managing for about a year now. I have stage managed Waiting for Godot(my first time stage managing, and it was amazing) and A Night Of One Acts. We are actually holding auditions tomorrow for the show I'm stage managing, 4.48 Psychosis. I'm a theatre major and I want to minor in Spanish, which I think is really awesome that so many of you are also involved in. I am always looking for new ideas for stage management so if anyone has a way that works for them for well... anything...let me know! Hehe! Nice to meet you all!
