My experience has been if we have it, we use it. Props, set pieces, as long as they don't slow down the rehearsal. This rehearsal belongs to the Musical Director/Conductor so what they say goes. I let them decide if they want to go back for ography but the emphasis is on the music. Staging is an added plus. Meet with Conductor, Director & Choreographer beforehand so everyone is on the same page and agrees which department takes priority. Two cents...

Just did a major Ballroom Show and had disastrous results with soda.
Dancers had boxes of rosin backstage that they used before entrances.
I also checked the floor at intermission with a little dixie cup of rosin that I spread around as needed...

I bought a gadget on late-night TV.

But...

I love it! It's a Redi Set Go (how appropriate, huh?) mini electric cooker.
On tour at the moment living in a Marriott and this thing is terrific!
Just had a perfectly cooked swiss cheese omelet. In a hotel room!

Since your Rep has not responded and it is now the weekend and you will get Tech notes tomorrow, I would suggest you call the Emergency Hotline in your area. In my humble opinion, this needs an immediate answer and advice. Tech Notes without the Stage Manager is ridiculous. And a safety violation just waiting to happen...

Just had the first orchestra rehearsal for ANNIE in the rehearsal room. After the rehearsal, I had to mop up the spittle from the spit valves of all the brass. Can you say disgusting that they simply walked away from it!?!
