Rule #1: Never read the question. Look for one or two key words and answer it. If you have to read the entire question, you probably don't know the answer anyway.

I will try it tonite and see if I can get close to Ms Kramer's insanely short times!

Got any more great hints like that, anyone?

Keyboard shortcuts are your friends. Click on the first answer only. After that, TAB + arrow keys all the way down. Much faster and it physically prevents you from missing any of them.

Stage Management: Plays & Musicals / Re: Time question
« on: Aug 24, 2012, 10:02 am »
For Performance Reports: Under 15 seconds round down to the minute, over 15 seconds or under 45 seconds, round up or down to the :30, over 45 seconds, round up to the next minute.

Unless I am specifically asked to do otherwise, of course. I have been asked for exact seconds, instead.

I have tried the minutes only/no seconds, but it sometimes raises questions, so I don't usually choose this method.

Random question: When you're reporting running times on your reports - do you include the seconds or do you round up/down to the nearest minute?

If it CAN be worn on the street, it is NOT tax deductible.
Certain things we buy can be tax deductible if "they are not suitable for everyday use" I don't know about you but how often do you see people wearing long black sleeve shirts, dickies, and steel toes out on the town...so add that to your 2%

I was up at the Broadway Green Alliance office today, dropping off some textiles for recycling (ie-old bed sheets) and saw the binder collection. They come in all sizes, and I mean all. In fact, they have one of the biggest binders I've ever seen!!!

Correction! I just saw a Facebook post updating us on The Binder Project. The Broadway Green Alliance HAS taken it over!  165 W. 46th St. (same building as AEA) Room 1312!

AEA is still doing it.  Go to Deborah, the 15th floor Receptionist, and she'll direct you.

The Hardline / Re: Tech under SPECIAL APPEARANCE AGREEMENT?
« on: Jun 03, 2012, 11:20 pm »
I'll say it, since no one else has... One would think your employers would have taken this into consideration, when hiring the AEA actor. I can't imagine why they would hire an AEA actor, on this contract, if they "can't afford the overtime hours," or can't tech. within the specified number of rehearsal hours. Shouldn't this have been taken into consideration, a lot earlier in the process?  Of course there's always the option of teching without him/her when the 5 AEA hours are up. I sure understand the contract, but not the employers who possibly didn't read or understand it...

Just trying to get a better understanding of all this since I can't imagine how you tech if your lead is equity and the company can't afford the overtime hours.

thanks for the help

Am only 50% through the book. I am looking forward to how Nicholas chooses to "tech." his show's ships and sea battle, if indeed, the story ever gets there.

There is a treadmill in the calling booth, complete with book holder, cue light system, monitors, and headset connections, all mounted conveniently, so that the calling SM can walk slowly, and not sit, throughout the entire performance.

I've downloaded it, but am finishing up something else first. I'll be traveling this weekend, so I'm likely to complete one or both by Memorial Day!

I've started on The Queen's Head. Here we go!
