They say don't respond, so I wouldn't. Maybe give it a day, then go and see them (always better to talk thing through face-to-face) and apologise. If they seem in a better mood after that, MAYBE then say how you felt about the email.

Good luck!

You could use weebly - I had some success with that - or you could simply write your own in HTML - there are lots of guides and free templates you can use to help.

Stage Management: Plays & Musicals / Re: Screwing Up
« on: Jan 29, 2012, 05:28 pm »
For the first show I worked on at Drama School, I was working as part of the LX team. We were rigging a bar onstage, and someone asked to borrow my knife to cut some tape. Handed it to them, they gave it back. Finished rigging the bar, bar flew out. All fine.

At the end of the session, I realised my knife was missing. We all searched high and low, but to no avail. I put up signs, sent out an email - nothing.

(I bet you know where this is going.)

Four weeks later, the last show came down and we all piled in to do the strike. I was in the second theatre rigging for another show, when the Prod LX came in, holding my knife. Turns out, I had put it down on top of a lantern while my hands were busy, and forgotten to pick it up.

There were 80 cast onstage for the majority of the opera, so if it had fallen off the lantern, it could have been a lot worse. LESSON LEARNT.

Maybe we can make it a SMNetwork project? I'm sure a lot of us have webcams and could do a few lines each...although that means someone will have to edit them together.

I'm happy to do the editing if everyone likes the idea.

Anyone mind if  try to make the S### Stage Managers Say video? I've been wanting to try out my web cam for a while.

I was going to suggest the same thing myself....

The last time I needed somewhere to put things, I made my own little holster using some black fabric offcuts - making your own means it will do exactly what you need it to!!

I'm planning to go - all depends on the rehearsal schedule for the day though.....I think it's a great idea. The SMA organises frequent pub sessions for everyone, and this is a slightly more formal way of more networking!

Happy New Year to you too Mac!

My two resolutions:
 - Learn a language (floating around German at the moment...)
 - Find a good accountant.
