Since I wrote this post eons ago, I have also learned to knit. I am now totally addicted to it and have spent many a night sitting in bed with my knitting saying, "just one more row and then I'll go to sleep"

As for preventing my stitches from falling off, I use circular needles. If you pull the ends of your needles and squish the yarn onto the plastic cord, it makes the project pretty travel-safe.

This is one of the reasons I don't use Facebook. Though I would never put an unattractive/unflattering picture of myself on the Internet, I can't control what photos my friends post and then tag me in.

I just started adding my shows and think it would be cool if the Author/Composer section included Choreographer for dance pieces.

Also what would one do for Cirque/Circus shows or other pieces without a script? Director?

Hooray crafters!

Anyone seen these? They're amazing for crocheting during backstage downtime (if you ever get any....). I bought them while I was run crew for a 2hr show with 1 set change. I think they also make knitting needles.

These are fabulous.   They do make knitting needles as well.  They are great for backstage, for camping and for when you are watching a movie and everyone else wants to have the lights out, but you still want to craft.

Painting can totally count as a craft.  Interior design can be a craft.

I also love to paint.  Walls, canvas, found objects, anything.

Painting walls definitely counts as a craft, there is prep and art and clean up involved and when you are finished you can admire your work and show it to others.  Sounds pretty crafty to me.

Yesterday, I learned how to knit.  I have been crocheting forever, but never picked up the knitting needles until yesterday.

You could probably freeze it and then break it into pieces with a rolling pin or a hammer...

If you freeze it soaked in vodka, it will actually get softer, and boozy. Then you could cut it into pieces and enjoy.

Brilliant!  Although I might still opt for the slowly gnawing process even with the vodka . . .

Kay, did you mean that post to be in the "what did you learn today" thread?  LOL

I used to be a big knitter, but currently it's too hot to knit.

I love to build things....currently working on turning a Nok Hockey set into a coffee table for my boyfriend's apartment.

Pardon me for asking, but what is Nok Hockey?

Construction projects are AWESOME crafts!

Today, I learned that if you leave a bag of gummy bears in your car for less than an hour, in the Georgia summer sun, they will melt together into a kalidescopic blob, which is nearly impossible to cut into bite-sized pieces, again, by any means found in your average kitchen.

Teeth, teeth would probably work.  I imagine myself curled in a ball in a dark corner somewhere, slowly gnawing my way through a colorful blob of sugary goodness . . .

I would love to see the photos of your ornaments!  I totally understand what you are going for from your description.  It sounds like a great personalized gift.

My current project is a little lizard for one of the costume ladies.  She is due to have a baby in December.

I know there are several of you out there that knit and crochet.  I am an obsessed crocheter (hooker).  I am make mostly hats and amigurumi.  My current trend (read: obsession) is with Sock Monkeys.  I just can't stop making them (crochet though, not using real socks).

What about you?  What are you making?

Also- I recently discovered a great resource for the crafty among us.  www.ravelry.com

It's a huge site with billions of members from all over the world.  I am totally addicted to looking at pictures of other peoples projects.

Here are some pictures of my two most recent projects:
