I got my AEA card as an actor in BRIGADOON in 1983.
Yes, I know, many of you weren't even born yet...
My first SM job was in 1999, calling SWEENEY TODD.

I have never seen this document.
Who put it together?
Did the Committee do it or was it written by staff at AEA?

The Hardline / Dear Abby

Dear Abby:

I have 47 EMC points already, but I don't feel I am ready to compete as an AEA member.  I am currently working as an Non-Eq ASM at an SPT theatre.  I chose to forego enrolling in EMC for this show, since the 7 points I would gain would push me over the edge.

My question is, can/should I still be indicated as EMC in the program, lobby display, etc?  I am in fact EMC, but not on this production.  So I could see how either way would work.  I don't particularly care at the end of the day, but I'd like to know what you all think, academically.

Sincerely,
Secret EMC

New York City Opera, which recently sought to raise a total of $20 million in emergency funds, was unable to reach its fundraising goal as of Sept. 30.  The organization began bankruptcy proceedings yesterday.

I give my actors an outline of the entire rehearsal process: Tues-Fri 1:00-9:00 and Sat-Sun 10:00-6:00.
Then a more specific schedule the night before via email. As a courtesy. And it could change if we get behind.
