The Hardline / Re: AEA: E-Cigarettes
« on: Feb 18, 2014, 10:16 am »
At this time, AEA has indeed only done one testing on eCigs and eCigars and have only approved the PURE brand.
Check out the THEATRICAL SMOKE FOG & HAZE TESTING results, page 2 of 22, for the actual verification of listing.
I am in conversations with te Union, trying to get the different brands tested but testing costs money... For any of you who have used other brands and not incurred any pushback from AEA, perhaps you forgot to report the actual use and brand...?

In my opinion, it is not an accurate reflection of the current industry and the opportunities it presents BUT this is the situation. Keith Sklar at NY Equity handles all SAFE & SANITARY issues. Get in touch. Let your voice be heard...

The Hardline / Re: EMC Weeks
« on: Feb 16, 2014, 01:15 pm »
As in Health accrual, it is my opinion that you get one credit per week, per contract.
If a producer has you working on separate shows during the same time frame, they should be paying an increment, not a salary or a separate credit for EMC or Health.

CHECK WITH AEA

The Hardline / Re: AEA: Straight Six for First Rehearsal
« on: Feb 07, 2014, 04:29 pm »
If I don't touch base by phone, I do alert the actors by email that the producers and the director would like to use straight sixes starting with Day One of rehearsals (usually to accommodate directors schedule) and ask if there are any objections.
So far, knock wood, no objections...

Good luck.
I hope you can stay away from the rehearsals "you're not needed at" due to budgetary restrictions...

The Hardline / Re: AEA: LORT Volunteering versus volunteering
« on: Dec 19, 2013, 07:02 pm »
Are there not specific rules regulating publicity appearances, what is worn and what is done in the LORT book?
I would hope some of there carry a payment of some kind...?
