um - HUH???

how does that work! yikes!

Well... it's hard to explain. But it works, I promise! It's a little tricky getting into the hallway once the show starts because you have to walk through the house, but it actually works out fairly well.  There is a bathroom and 3 2-person rooms (and one single, lovingly referred to as "The Closet") up above the lobby.

That is crazy!! Are you at POTS?  And I thought the intern housing was bad when I was there 15 years ago... :-)

Today I learned that the color on dental crowns is hand-painted on each one, with tiny, tiny brushes.

Many of the best things in life are seasoned and/or aged...

Good cheese, wine, whiskey, beef, and apparently stage managers! :-)

Today I learned no matter how awful and obnoxious they were when they were kids, older brothers grow up to be kind, compassionate and helpful human beings.

Today, I learned that if you leave a bag of gummy bears in your car for less than an hour, in the Georgia summer sun, they will melt together into a kalidescopic blob, which is nearly impossible to cut into bite-sized pieces, again, by any means found in your average kitchen.

Teeth, teeth would probably work.  I imagine myself curled in a ball in a dark corner somewhere, slowly gnawing my way through a colorful blob of sugary goodness . . .

I am so glad I am not the only person that was thinking that!!

You could probably freeze it and then break it into pieces with a rolling pin or a hammer...

Today I learned that if the heating element on the bottom of the dishwasher falls off of its brackets, it will melt a hole in the bottom of the dishwasher and flood under the cabinets and into the basement...    :(

I guess tomorrow I will learn how much new dishwashers cost!

That Babe Ruth was sold to the NY Yankees (from the Boston Red Sox) to finance the original production of "No, No Nanette" and it is possible that theatre is responsible for the so-called "curse of the Bambino" and Boston's 86 year losing streak...

The Green Room / Re: Vacation Suggestions

Novia Scotia is always beautiful, and isn't that from New England.  Unfortunately there is no longer a ferry from Portland (or anywhere in the US), but it could be a fun road trip.

I love Belize, particularly San Pedro/Ambergris Caye.  It isn't far from the US, it has a little of everything (snorkeling, jungle, beaches, good food), everyone speaks both English and Spanish (and usually French Creole), and both local currency and the US dollar are accepted universally.  It is incredibly peaceful, and except for the fire dept, there are no cars on the island, only golf carts and bicycles.

If you want to stay in the US, Telluride, CO is one of the most beautiful places on earth, especially in the summer.  It is a place both with just mellow little boutiques and cafes and hardcore hiking and outdoor activities.  Telluride is also about a 2 hour drive from Mesa Verde cliff dwellings and the four corners, so it makes a good day trip.

Where ever you go, have a wonderful trip!!

Can you give us more info about what you might want?  For example:

1) do you want to fly somewhere or drive?
2) do you want to stay in the country or leave it?
3) do you want something mellow and relaxing or high energy/physical?
4) do you like warm weather or cold?
5) are you a throw everything in a backpack and see where the world takes you, or do you like everything completely planned?
6) what type of travel/accommodations do you like?  Are you a local bus and hostel type person or a first class air and 5 star hotel kind of person?

Everywhere you go is a little different, so knowing what you are looking for will help us recommend somewhere.

(Can you tell I love to travel??  ;))
