The Green Room / Re: Sanity is Evasive
« on: Mar 14, 2011, 08:08 pm »
If I've had a really really bad day, I'll meditate when I get home to push all the thoughts of the day out....that is if I'm still able to concentrate.

I've also recently become a mod/admin of another forum about a zombie apocalypse radio drama and I've found that heading over there and talking about theories and what not helps me decompress.

I don't expect that last one to be helpful to anyone but myself...

Just had to say I started listening to that Zombie radio drama, and its quite enjoyable. Thanks for sending me the info

I second Big Booty.

Another group-chant game I that like is Show Us How You Get Down:

Players stand in a circle and establish a rhythm through clapping or tapping their thighs. Player One begins the game by engaging Player Two in the following exchange:

ONE: Hey Player Two!
TWO: Hey what?
ALL: Hey Player Two!
TWO: Hey what?
ONE: Show us how you get down.
TWO: No way.
ALL: Show us how you get down.
TWO: Okay.
ALL: D-O-W-N, that's the way we get down. (x2)

On the first D-O-W-N... Player Two shows off a dance move for the whole group. On the second D-O-W-N... the entire group performs Player Two's dance move. Then the chant begins again, with Player Two calling on Player Three, etc.

I use this one a lot as well except

ONE: Hey (Insert Name)!
TWO: Hey what?
ALL: Hey (Insert Name)!
TWO: Hey what?
ONE: Show us how you get up.
TWO: No way.
ALL: Show us how you get down.
TWO: Okay.
ALL: D-O-W-N, that's the way we get down. (x2)

Then whoever did the dance move asks the next person. I stopped doing this one when it got out of hand during a sound of music production. The captain decided to show us how he got down, by whipping his junk back and forth through his fly... with the Von Trapp kids in the room. *Unhappy SM Face*

oh god here we go.

My theatre uses office headsets as our com system, but they only work when plugged into specific slots in the dock, and only work if removed in a proper order.

If the house lights (Which are a dimmer switch on the wall) dont work, we have to double tap and pray they work.

If we get enough complaints about it being dark in the theatre before the show (Dinner theatre) we open up the Spot light and light the audience at 20%

The list goes on.

The Main one that gets me strange looks isnt so much the "Go" but the standby. I was sitting with some theatre friends between shows at a restaurant and I tried to call every bite people took with standbys included. They got rather annoyed but I had a blast haha.
