I am very lucky in the fact that I do almost all my work at the community theatre here in town, but that we just got a beautiful building.

There's a sketch of what it looks like.
It's got a beautiful layout....but we've found out that the pit is rather loud and covers up the actors.
Other than that we have:
Fly system
Two dressing rooms
Large stage
TV monitors in the dressing rooms, green rooms, and stage left area, stage right will be getting one soon-ish
large green room
construction area
costume construction area - Too small and unorganized still

I love it.
I'm really lucky to live in a city that loves the arts so much!!!

Here's a clip of "Oliver" that we did really recently.

Stage Management: Plays & Musicals / SHOWS: Peter Pan

What fly system is used for Peter Pan?
I'm interested in learning the system, and finding out how much one would cost.
The theatre I work with is interested in putting on in.

Thanks!

Firstly, ask everyone to remain calm and not to panic...and send the ASM to tell the on stage actors not to move.

If this had happened at the local theatre I know that the emergency exit door can be opened to provide enough on stage light during the day, and the greenroom could be opened as well flooding the left side stage when the curtains have been taken down and we have a huge light in the booth which could be used easily to "spot light" them.

A lot of what I would do would depend on what theatre I'd be working with...and if there was a way to get natural light onto the stage.

Hey.
I'm going to Community College right now, but eventually I would like to branch out to another school for some more learning, as this Community College doesn't offer JUST technical theatre but you have to take acting as well. I don't mind...because I like to act, but I'd like to focus more on the tecnical side eventually.

Anyway...my question is what are some really good schools down in the south US?
South Georgia and Florida would be my preference.
I know there are a lot of abroad schools...and I'll go that far if need be...but...in the event that doesn't/can't happen I need a back up plan.
=)

Thank you!
