What did they say about their intentions in starting the site?

I got it as well. I haven't investigated it at all. I'd be interested to hear who else received it.

Stage Management: Plays & Musicals / Re:
« on: Sep 15, 2009, 07:55 pm »
I've always been taught with stage firearms aiming at the target is absolutely the safest way to go. The end is stopped, but there is still powder spraying from the sides. That makes in front the safest.

I think you should use the show, but include that it's upcoming.

The Hardline / Dancers' Union
« on: Jun 26, 2009, 03:14 am »
I'm not sure if this is the right topic for this, but is there a union for dancers? I tried to google it, but had a hard time locating what ever the dance equivalent is. Thanks!

I'm stage managing a show with CapFringe. I'm also taking five classes because I'm doing an internship next Spring and want to be pretty much finished with college by December. It's a lot of stuff with pretty much no break, but at least I have a goal to keep me going!

Employment / Re: Abbreviations on Resumes
« on: Jun 06, 2009, 10:43 pm »
I haven't found the need to abbreviate schools yet, but I am abbreviating PM and TD. I don't think any of it is stuff that it's common industry abbreviation. I just wasn't sure if it would be seen as lazy or space-conservative.

Employment / Abbreviations on Resumes
« on: Jun 06, 2009, 03:25 pm »
I'm updating my resume and I have it down to about one page, but it only fits on one page if I abbreviate stage manager and assistant stage manager as SM and ASM. For those of you doing hiring, would you rather see the abbreviation or the resume going slightly over a page?
Thanks!

The Hardline / Re: TYA Virgins?

I have been hearing lot about TYA lately (I'm a year out from graduating and a lot of my friends just finished up) and I'm not sure I'm clear on what it is. Is it a type of contract, a type of theatre, or a specific program? None of the above?

Does anyone have (or even know of) The Dead based on James Joyce's short story?
