I just began working with a  new theater and unfortunately my ASM will not be available until much later in the rehearsal process. This leaves me trying to juggle more than a few things, which is expected. My cast and director often ask me to sing along or for the cast during choreograph, blocking, or when an actor is missing. I understand an actor's lines must be covered but having me sing as they work is hardly efficient. Not to mention i'm not a singer. Our music director is at all rehearsals but is busy playing Sondheim not singing multiple parts.  How on earth do remain efficient while helping out the best I can with music?
-Thanks

Hey Yall,

My name is Renata. I ran across this network in SM class, and what a nice place to begin! I am a senior in high school at Booker t. Arts Magnet in Dallas and have been given some great SM opportunities around the area. It was my pleasure to be the student intern for the Dallas Theater Center this fall and I hope to be returning this month (cross our fingers.) I will be getting a BFA in SM next fall as I enter undergraduate school. I have been accepted into three programs, Carnegie Melon, Oklahoma City, and Webster. I have visited and shadowed managers at each school and enjoyed each program.  Does anyone have any input on these programs?

Excited to be here!

Renata
