Self-Promotion / Ailey II

In a whirlwind month and a half of rep summerstock since recently graduating college a year early... I am thrilled to be able to say that I have accepted the stage management position with Ailey II (the second company of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater)! I am so excited!
It's also a bit crazy, as I am moving to NYC Sunday night after a two show day. I'm really looking forward to getting to know the city, and thus far it seems like Ailey is going to be a great place for me. Either way, working in dance has always been a dream, so getting this job right out of school feels pretty surreal and amazing. Thanks for letting me share!

Employment / Internship Choices

I am currently in the really pleasant position of needing to decide between two SM internships, and I am looking for some feedback.

The first is with the Contemporary American Theatre Festival (straight theatre in rep):
I was their Assistant Company Manager last summer, and loved everyone I worked with. It's a good situation.

The second is with Des Moines Metro Opera (Opera in rep):
I don't have much prior knowledge of this company, and I have never worked in opera (though I can read music well, pick up languages easily, etc). I was flattered to get an offer, but again, I don't know anything about their people.

They have very similar pay and housing situations, both good.

Basically, I'm torn between returning to where I worked before and continuing to build relationships with the upper management there, or working in a field I have yet to experience and am interested in. They're pretty equal for me right now, but I need to make a choice!

College and Graduate Studies / Portfolio Reviews

Hello,

I'm currently preparing for interviews at Syracuse University, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and Emerson College. I am hoping to get some advice about what exactly to include in a portfolio, what they will actually look at, and just generally what to expect. Will they actually look at a full prompt book if I bring it? What should I expect them to want to keep (other than my resume', of course)?

College and Graduate Studies / Schools (undergrad)

I am currently a rising senior in highschool in Northern Virginia and have chosen Stage Management as something I want to do for the rest of my life (thus I am finding colleges with SM as a major). I have researched things and I think I have a pretty clear idea of what the real world holds. I have truly fallen in love with Stage Management as a position, and am trying to gain as much experience with as many different groups as I can.
I have read every thread on this child board in the last few days (I just closed a show, so suddenly I have time... strange concept that it is. , and have found some very useful information, but much of it is at least a few years old. I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions that can be given (and am terribly sorry if this topic seems redundant to many of you).
The schools I am looking at are:
UNCSA
Syracuse
Boston U
Emerson
DePaul
Penn State
Webster
Western Michigan
I am looking for a BFA program in Stage Management (not a tech track with a concentration), preferably conservatory. UNCSA is my top choice currently (I really love the campus, the atmosphere, the spaces, and the people...I also went there for a couple of dance intensives when I was younger, so I am biased), but I haven't had the chance to visit more than 3 of these schools.
Also, any and all suggestions regarding financial aid for any of these schools, or just generally would be much appreciated. I have very good grades, GPA, classes, etc... but affording college is a major concern for me... I do realize that there are other, cheaper options, and I do have one fallback, in-state school (to make my concerned, but supportive mother happy), as long as I'm shooting, might as well shoot for the stars!
