Introductions / Hi! - NOVICE - Need Guidance

Hello all!
I am new to this network and a complete novice to SMing. I would appreciate advice on how to get started in the theater field, and more specifically Stage Managing. I'm a social worker (MSW) by trade, but want to change career paths. I guess my first question is, am I too ole with too little experience to begin in the theater world? I'm 32, but willing to go back to school, get experience, and start at the bottom. I'm really willing to do whatever it takes to make this dream come true, but do need some honest guidance. I have done drama productions in an informal venue, but have not done any big productions. Theater of all kinds (but especially musical theater) is my biggest hobby and I would love to make into a career. I know I'm not actor material, but with training/experience I could be good at behind the scenes roles. I'm literally starting from square one, though. So, if you have time to answer some questions and offer guidance, it would be greatly appreciated!
1. As I posed above, am I too old/too inexperienced to pursue this dream?
2. How do I get a foot in the 'theater' door?
3. Should I pursue a BFA?
4. How would I get an internship?
