« on: Apr 28, 2013, 08:03 pm »
I just asm my first show. Usually I act but since it was a spring musical I asmed. To be honest at first I felt I had nothing to do. Then I did and it was stressful but it got better and I loved it. Afther this year my sm leaves for nau and I hope to get sm for next years three shows. Any advice.

So, as a student myself I have pencils, pens, tape, post-its, cartenter ruler  [sic], paper, and my sanity.

So. First I would wet myself cause I'm at the superbowl. Then I would take the time to se the stadium to find the best places for lighting. Then have a pro come in and do the rest because I'm not that good with lights seeing how I'm sm. I'll have a lighting crew of pros and apprentices do it and then approve and walk away

Students and Novice Stage Managers / Re: Mentorship Program
« on: Apr 27, 2013, 09:28 pm »
I believe this would be a great idea. As I am almost a senior in High school I have only been asm for one show. I have always acted in the shows. Our current stage manager is leaving this year for nau and I hope I would be fullfilling the stage manager role next year. So having a mentor would be amazing and really helpful. So I say yes.

I'm the type of person who likes to take risk. But the risk has to come from me and do only me damage not others. For actors to go behind backs causes alot of problems. I would say no. Then find the person who brought the idea up and have him/her apologize to the cast for false hope and never hire or place them in a part for being untrustworthily.
