Erin--

You missed the rather spirited exchange I had with John Moore on that Sunday "column."   ;D

Well, since I've gotten back into it, I type the script into Numbers and format it so that it corresponds to the page numbers in the script.  Then, I place blocking notes and cues in the facing page.  So I end up with the script on the left side of the rings and the blocking and cues on the right.  Very neat, very easy to update, and I've set it up so that warnings and standbys are automatically entered in the spreadsheet.

The other folks on the production I'm on now looked at me like I was nuts when I showed up to rehearsal with the script typed into my laptop.....although they aren't laughing now!

Stage Management: Plays & Musicals / Re: Dressing For The Part?

For the people who have said that the better you dress, the more seriously others will take you--that's absolutely true, at least to a point.  I've gone to rehearsals wearing a suit, following a court appearance (I'm a lawyer by day) and it is amazing to see how differently people react to me (ordinarily for rehearsal I wear chinos and a Polo oxford).  During the run, black mock turtleneck and black slacks or (clean, neat) jeans; and my trusty shined old Army boots--black Hitecs.
