Hi,
The best way is through projection. We had a projector hidden in the set and projected it on the chalkboard from behind and made the illusion of it being drawn by magic.

Hi,
I used actual shaving cream, and we placed it in a small cup and placed a shaving brush in there.

Actors would use the brush to apply the shaving cream. After, on the chair, they can use the towel to wipe off the shaving cream.

At the end of the show, I would clean the brush and cup and have them ready for the next show.
