Job Postings / Assistant to the Director, Folger Theatre

Folger Shakespeare Library, located on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, is seeking two local positions: Assistant Director and Assistant to the Director to join us for the 2023/24 season. The production dates are:
Production 1: The Winter’s Tale September 27 – December 3, 2023
Production 3: Where We Belong January 29 – March 24, 2024
Production 4: Metamorphoses April 8 – June 23, 2024
The Assistant to the Director position is an opportunity for an individual to have a hands-on learning experience and learn firsthand about the production process.
NOTE: In your application materials (brief cover letter and resume), please share your interest and availability for one or more of the productions listed above.
Folger Theatre is a professional AEA theater which prohibits discrimination of any kind. While the Folger no longer requires masks or vaccinations (except for AEA spaces), we support and encourage individuals to take the safety precautions they are most comfortable with, and we ask that individual choices are respected. As we wrap up construction and move to work more consistently on-site this summer, the Folger will continue to review and update polices, in conversation with our staff.
Compensation:
Fee is paid per production and is competitive. Candidates will be notified of pay upon scheduling of a phone screening.
