New Member: Sophomore at Baldwin Wallace University

So happy to have found this site! I am a sophomore at Baldwin Wallace University double majoring in Theatre (Stage Management) and French. I also have a Business Management minor and an Arts Management Specialization. My passion for theatre started when I discovered the works of Master William Shakespeare. I am originally a dancer/actor who turned to the dark side (my cute little way of saying I chose the backstage life. Get it? Because it is dark backstage?) My favorite thing about being a Stage Manager is that I get to be with the show from the first to the last day. It is such a treat to watch and facilitate a show as it develops into something beautiful. I love being in the rehearsal room, watching the creative team work, and helping any way I can. I am so excited to talk to the other stage managers on this site, so I have a question for all of you: What is your favorite thing about being a Stage Manager?

Seeing the show develop is definitely a plus of the often incredibly taxing job. I love having such a great seat for shows that are going well, with the audience really into it. Of course, sometimes having that seat is hard when things aren't going so well, but thank goodness for places like SMNetowrk to help there. Welcome.

Welcome.  I'm a graduate of BW from way back when (it was still Baldwin-Wallace College when I attended, and we still had to have somebody running the patch panel in the JPT for the bigger shows, to give you an idea of how long ago).
