Hello! I started out stage managing in my local community college just last year (2016) when our former SM moved to a different state. I've loved it ever since and have SM'd two more shows with them, with the recent one being The Matchmaker. I hope to one day do this as a career. But with no money for school and still learning to cope with my severe anxiety, I'll learn as much as I can by reading all I can about stage managing.
*My little SM trick* I'm not one to scream/raise my voice to get my cast's attention. I'm also quite short, so that makes it more difficult. What I do, which has been effective, is raise both my arms and wait for everyone else to mimic me.
