Hi! I'm Julianne, and I'm from California. I'm new to SM network, but I've been on a couple times when working on past shows. I love theatre, and Stage Management has caught my interest for a while now. I participated in plays all through high school, first as an actor and then as a techie as well. I was light/sound crew chief during my junior and senior years, and that job held a lot of duties similar to an SM, including calling cues, helping with rehearsals, and and basically being the other half of my drama teacher's brain.
I officially stage managed for the first time in my Intro to Theatre class during my freshman year at Brigham Young University, which was last school year. Our final project was to put on an original play, and my part was the SM. During this, I got a little experience organizing rehearsals, taking notes, building an SM kit and binder, and assisting a director.
Now I'm home in California for the summer, and am stage managing my church's production of Fiddler on the Roof. I'm hoping that the director didn't think I have a lot of knowledge or experience in this when she asked me to help out, because I'm pretty nervous about being the SM for such a big production.
